Marriage is an important union we cannot do away with, unless one is born to be single, or due to religious reasons, one has to remain chaste and not marry till death. In many instances, before many people enter into marriage, the two persons have to know each other well, the two persons have to consider whether they are compatible (both in generic wise and behavior wise). Normally, ‘lovers’ begin with friendship, then they ‘graduate’ into dating, then into courtship and finally into marriage. In proper courtship, there is a very high possibility of getting married. Courtship period is the time the two ‘lovers’ spend to have very good intimate relationship. By the time ‘lovers’ will reach courtship, they should have been at least 80% sure that they will get married. But the big questions are, ‘how do you even first of all choose someone to marry? How do you even choose someone, decide to love the person and spend the rest of your life with the person?’
Can we learn something from the animals? Can we learn something from mammals? Oww, humans are even mammals so no big deal.
Funnily, human’s perspectives of choosing a ‘mate’ or ‘spouse’ is not what most animals think. While some animals do not exhibit courtship behaviors, some do. I am compelled to say averagely, animals are wiser than us when it comes to courtship or choosing a mate for reproduction. While humans normally think of appearance, money, so called character and many other funny reasons for choosing a life partner, animals solely think of their offspring. Animals think of what their offspring will look like. Animals always want to produce the best in their offspring. Animals want their offspring to be more fit than them (parents). Hardly will you see an animal who is born sick or born with defect. Animals are always careful of their mates. They choose mates that have very good genes. They want the best for their offspring. They want to invest good genes into their generations.
Can this be said of humans? Why are ‘sicklers’ keep on rising? why are we putting innocent souls into pains? Why don’t we consider our genes before choosing a life partner? Humans are claimed to be higher class animals, indicating that we are wiser than every animal. But I have come to realize that when it comes to courtship behaviors, animals are far wiser than humans.
Maybe we have to learn from the animals. Choose your life partner well so that you don’t harm your children!!
