Under the Sheets

Tension and exposure
Tinted and exhausted

Sounds of uneven breath start to elope
Screams of short and mixed words
Surround the venue

Under the sheets
Where a new life is formed
Life of a newborn
Life of an emergency

Some which is planned
Others in a rush
Bittersweet styles
Pleasure in ending some

Assurance and the talk
Words of encouragement

“You are the sweetest thing I have tasted”
He says…

But being under the sheets,
It’s a matter of priorities, straight forward
Unto the next agenda

Comes the questions pacing up and down
After it is all over
Was it the right thing to do?
Now we above the sheets.

Under the Sheets
